Some of the work performed in the department includes:
Making a diagnosis of harmful organisms observed in vineyards and orchards, as well as research on their distribution, densities, and levels of economic damage,
Monitor the risks of quarantine organisms and emerging pests with surveys,
To conduct research on effective control strategies for pests that are newly discovered in our country and subject to quarantine in fruit and vineyard areas,
Investigating and integrating forecasting and warning techniques into management studies,
To conduct research on the dynamics of harmful populations in changing environmental and climatic conditions,
To carry out applications and research on biotechnical control methods,
To evaluate plants and plant products for import, export, plant passport, and certification requirements,
Conducting investigations on the detection and observation of vector insects,
To participate in the commission for the licensing of plant protection products and to assess the results of plant protection product efficacy studies in fields for fruit and vineyards,
Conducting studies on genetic characterization and DNA barcoding, especially for quarantine criteria,
To carry out the duties of the Apple Integrated Management's country coordinator,
