The Department of Agricultural Technologies (AgTech) advances research at the intersection of agriculture, engineering, and data science, with the goal of supporting more productive, resilient, resource-efficient, and knowledge-driven agricultural systems. Its research spans precision and digital agriculture, smart farming, sensing and imaging, artificial intelligence, data analytics, decision-support systems, automation, robotics, and agricultural mechanization, with a strong focus on addressing real-world challenges in agricultural production. The AgTech Department also aims to foster interdisciplinary research across the Institute by bringing together complementary scientific expertise, knowledge, and data from its research departments and centers, creating opportunities for integrated studies and the development of new applications, systems, and decision-support solutions for agriculture.
