UTAEM Hosted Workshop on Climate Change Resilient Practices in Sustainable Agricultural Systems

​The Workshop on Climate Change Resilient Practices in Sustainable Agricultural Systems was held in UTAEM on October 26-27. In the workshop jointly organized by UTAEM, Ege University Faculty of Agriculture and Ecological Agriculture Organization Association, various presentations were instructed on mitigation of climate change. Mohamed EL Sabry from Cairo University in Egypt and Marjoleine Hanegraaf from Wageningen University in the Netherlands were also guest speakers and presented. 48 participants attended the workshop, including women farmers engaged in organic production, experts from TAGEM, technical staff from Izmir Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry and agricultural consultants. Within the scope of the workshop, participants visited the experimental field of the project on the development of regenerative agriculture techniques in cotton in the Aegean region, carried out by UTAEM. On the second day of the workshop, participants were also informed about the objectives and outputs of the EJP Soil projects (EOM4SOIL​, ROAD4SCHEMES​, CARBOSEQ​, PRAC2LIV) carried out by UTAEM within the scope of EU HORIZON 2020.
