The project "Investigation of Susurluk Basin Medical Leech Hirudo verbana Population Status from Economic Perspective" supported by our General Directorate and carried out by Mustafa ERGÜN, Aquaculture Engineer at our Institute continues. Within the scope of the project, between 14-18 August 2023, medical leech sampling and wetland surveys were carried out in the water sources in Susurluk, Manyas and İvrindi districts of Balıkesir. The last points of the wetlands were examined and the latest status of the medical leech populations were followed.
