As part of the "Variable Rate Irrigation System Development Project Using Remote Sensing Techniques," a collaborative effort between the Izmir Commodity Exchange, UTAEM, Ege University, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, and the Inclusive Growth Association, a farmer meeting was held in Izmir on October 1, 2025.
At the event, a smart irrigation system which takes the field variations into account was introduced. It was emphasized that this system, supported by remote sensing data, will significantly contribute to farmers in terms of water savings and productivity.
Participating producers received information about the system's field applicability. Pilot application results were shared, providing an important platform for accelerating the digital transformation in agriculture and increasing farmers' access to technology.
