Duty Areas: The Bahri Dağdaş International Agricultural Research Institute conducts research on the following subjects: Cereals, Industrial plants, Edible legumes, Medicinal aromatic plants, Meadow-pasture and forage crops, Fruit growing, Vegetable growing, Biodiversity, Genetic resources, and Livestock.

1. The Bahri Dağdaş International Agricultural Research Institute conducts research on developing new varieties, lines, and breeds with improved yield and quality in line with breeding and breeding techniques and market demands. The Institute also focuses on increasing resistance to diseases, harmful environmental conditions, and adverse environmental conditions such as drought through the use of new techniques and technologies, such as biotechnology.

2. The Bahri Dağdaş International Agricultural Research Institute also conducts research on increasing the efficiency of plant nutrition and agricultural control through the use of agricultural mechanization and information technologies, precision agriculture techniques, or early warning systems. Additionally, the Institute conducts research to reduce harvest and post-harvest product losses.

3. The Bahri Dağdaş International Agricultural Research Institute also focuses on registering the varieties and lines developed as a result of breeding studies. This registration ensures the continuity of the breeding material and enables the production of seeds at the elite and original level of the developed varieties.

4. The Bahri Dağdaş International Agricultural Research Institute also conducts research on alternative products to increase product diversity.

5. The Bahri Dağdaş International Agricultural Research Institute also conducts the task of "Plant Drought Test Center" on a national basis. The main goal of the center is to test plant materials in order to identify sources of resistance, to develop and disseminate plants that are compatible with climate change, drought-resistant/tolerant, and to accelerate adaptation.

6. The Bahri Dağdaş International Agricultural Research Institute also coordinates the International Winter Wheat Improvement Program (IWWIP) on behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. The program aims to provide material exchange, and to provide material support for breeding purposes to winter wheat-growing countries, especially in Mid and West Asia and North Africa (CWANA) region.

7. The Bahri Dağdaş International Agricultural Research Institute conducts research on horticulture (fruit, vegetables, and vineyards) to develop varieties, rootstocks, and technologies suitable for the region.

8. The Bahri Dağdaş International Agricultural Research Institute also conducts studies on the collection, preservation, identification, cultivation and use of plant genetic resources as necessary, in order to protect biological diversity and ensure its sustainable use in its field of duty.

9. The Bahri Dağdaş International Agricultural Research Institute conducts research on breeding, breeding techniques, natural and artificial insemination and embryo transfer in order to increase and diversify productivity and production in livestock.

10. The Bahri Dağdaş International Agricultural Research Institute conducts research and development activities in animal husbandry, care-feeding, animal welfare, and herd management techniques and housing systems.

11. The Bahri Dağdaş International Agricultural Research Institute conducts research on the conservation and sustainable use of pet genetic resources

12. The Bahri Dağdaş International Agricultural Research Institute monitors the developments in the crop and livestock sector, makes observations, conducts socio-economic studies, and prepares and presents reports for strategy development.

13. The Bahri Dağdaş International Agricultural Research Institute monitors the vegetation in the main crops it is responsible for, makes observations, prepares reports including yield estimation during the development and harvest periods, and makes suggestions to decision makers to prevent possible crises.
