Central Research Institute of Food and Feed Control is affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and General Directorate of Agricultural Research and Policies (TAGEM) and is the only research institute operating on food in Türkiye.
The research activities on food, feed, water, aquaculture, food contact materials and articles, and dairy products gene resources are carried out. In addition, the Institute implements import, export, inspection, and special request analysis requests accredited according to international standards, in line with the principles of customer satisfaction, reliability, and objectivity.
The Institute carries out research and development (R&D) activities for the food industry in cooperation with TAGEM, TÜBİTAK (Scientific and Technological Research Institution of Türkiye), universities, and foreign organizations. It also meets the analysis and training demands of the Provincial and District Directorates of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in Bursa and surrounding provinces, other public institutions, and private sector companies.
Quality Management System studies started at the Institute in 2001. In this context, it was accredited according to EN ISO 9001 certification in 2002, EN ISO/IEC 17025 in 2014, and OIC/SMIIC 35 in 2023, and increases the number of accredited analyses every year within the scope of accreditation activities.
The institute started to implement the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) Excellence Model in 2008 and broke new ground among public and private sector laboratories related to its fields of activity and was rewarded with Bursa Quality Achievement Award in 2009.
Within this framework, the Institute constantly contributes to society's consumption of quality, safe and healthy food.
