​The '8th International Seed Congress' continued on its second day with the presence of our Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Mr. İbrahim Yumaklı. In his speech at the congress, Minister Yumaklı stated that extensive studies were carried out regarding the seed sector and said, “As a result of the studies we carried out, we have become able to produce 97 percent of every 100 kilograms of seed used in our country domestically. Thanks to this, we have increased seed production from 145 thousand tons to 1.3 million tons in the last 22 years. Our seeds exported to 117 countries have contributed approximately 500 million dollars to the national economy." Following the speeches, a cooperation protocol was signed between TAGEM and TÜRKTOB.
