Dr. Atife Tuba Beken, a researcher at our institute, has submitted a project titled “Effect of Cypermethrin (CYP) on Energy Dynamics Products in Turbot Sperm” for consideration within the scope of TÜBİTAK 1002 - Rapid Support Program.
The project will collaborate with Karadeniz Technical University Medicine and Pharmaceutical Technology Application and Research Centre (KTÜ İLAFAR) and adopt an interdisciplinary approach that integrates aquaculture biotechnology and environmental toxicology.
Project Overview
This research aims to comprehensively examine the effects of Cypermethrin, a water-soluble pesticide extensively utilised in agricultural practices, on turbot sperm, which holds significant economic value for our nation.
The study will focus on evaluating the energy metabolism products of sperm, including ATP, ADP, and AMP, and elucidating the impact of environmental pollution on fish reproductive physiology. This research holds paramount importance in enhancing fish production efficiency and developing environmentally sustainable aquaculture methodologies.
The anticipated outcomes of this research will contribute to a deeper comprehension of the effects of environmental stress factors and pave the way for the development of advanced sperm quality assessment techniques.
