Tasks of Fishery Management: Working fields to estimate economical species in inland waters and seas (Black sea and Marmara sea),To determine bio-ecological features of important species,To determine food dynamics and relationship between prey-predator in species, To investigate destructive effects and reduction methods of fishery gear,To survey HES and HES liked constructions which are built on offshore structures and fluvial deposits, To mark fish and determine migration routes and migration areas by this method. In addition, researches are conducted on subjects that require information by the ministry. Since the establishment of the Institute, national (Tagem, Tübitak, Bap, Development agency, Ministry of Development, Public Private Sector Cooperation), International and EU projects have been carried out in our department.
Resulted EU projects;

Surat Research 3:
All departments can use for sampling at closer distances and frequently time lined projects.
Biometric measurements: Height and weight measurement, sex determination, stage of gonad development, samples for histological studies
Morphometric measurements: Making surveys within scope of projects,in order to determine species of fish in accordance with the specified like in the systematic studies
Benthic studies: Determination of macro-level benthic organisms, biyodiversity, ecological quality
Ichthyoplankton studies: To Determine the number of eggs and larvae that sampled among specimens in the studied field
Age Determination: To determine ages of studied species within scope of projects
