1st Meeting of Living Labs (LLs) of the SCOOP Project (Developing intercropping systems with camelina to increase the yield and quality parameters of local underutilized crops), in the scope of Core Organic which is a subproject of ERANET, Horizon 2020, carried out at the Central Research Institute of Field Crops' (CRIFIC), Research and Application Farm, Haymana/Ikizce on April 26th, 2022. Around sixty (60) participants from; General Directorate of Crop Production, Department of Education and Extension Center, Directorate of Turkish National Botanical Garden, Directorate of International Agricultural Education Center, Ankara Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry/ Haymana District, Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry/Sincan District, Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry/ Ankara province, technical personnel from Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Rural Services Conventional and Organic Farmers and the Turkish Seed Association (TÜRKTOB) representatives, Private Sector Representatives and Agricultural Consultants were joined to the event. A detailed information was given about the SCOOP project and the superior aspects of intercropping systems were compared regarding mono culture applications, in details during the event. Afterwards, Core-Organic experimental areas were visited (both autumn and spring sowing applications) with the participants. A demonstration of intercropping planting of buckwheat and camelina was carried out with a special seeder designed for intercropping applications. Participants were invited to the 2nd living laboratories event will be held on May 31st, 2022.
