Regional Responsibility Area: Manisa, İzmir, Denizli, Aydın, Muğla, Kütahya, Balıkesir, Uşak, Isparta ve Burdur

Duty Topics: Viticulture, Plant Health, Soil and Water Resources;

- Developing new varieties and application of new growing techniques, aiming to increase the yield and quality, to enhance the resilience of the plants against pests, diseases and problematic environmental conditions according to the market demands. Plus, performing basic and applied research by using latest technological developments.

- Increasing the effectiveness in plant nutrition, pest-disease management and decreasing the harvest and post-harvest losses by using mechanization, information technologies, precision agri-technologies and early warning systems.

- Registration of the new varieties developed by breeding studies and preserving the breeding material.

- Establishing and maintaining the first and second plots of the owned varieties for the during the registration process, preservation of the base material, transferring the top quality production material to the requested nurseries and research institutions

- Collecting and assessing data for the raisins and table grapes

- Collection, storage, identification and propagation of the national varieties for the collection vineyard. Following, establishing duplication plot of the national collection vineyard to preserve the biological diversity, and to use for breeding studies.

- Performing research and management on grapevine pests and diseases

- Creating suitable methods and improving technologies for the efficient water usage in viticulture

- Performing research on plant nutrition, soil regulators and their effects on soil fertility-quality and improving adequate fertilization techniques

- Observing the vegetation, creating reports which includes total yield during growth and harvest seasons, presenting these reports to the decision makers and making preventative and critical suggestions
