   Its homeland is the island of Jersey between England and France. It is the midget of dairy cattle breeds. Average live weight in adult cows is 350 kg. The color varies from light brown to black. The Jerseys turn the feed into milk in the most economical way. They utilize medium quality meadows better than other dairy breeds. The birth weight of Jersey calves is around 20 kg. Jersey is a breed with a high milk fat rate. They give 3.000 kg of milk with 5% fat under medium conditions.  Heifers that have completed one year become mature in terms of sexuality.
