"WE HAVE PRESENTED THE GRANT PACKAGE OF 1,5 BILLION TL TO OUR INVESTORS"

Speaking in the event at the Ankara Chamber of Commerce, Minister Bekir Pakdemirli has called on rural investors to benefit from the grants provided in the scope of IPARD-II 5th Call for Applications that offers 250 million Euros, namely about 1.5 billion Liras. "The call for applications is continuing. Do not hesitate, do not wait, come and invest in the rural areas," he said.

Bekir Pakdemirli, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, has participated in the information and publicity program of the 5th European Union Rural Development Program-II (IPARD-II) Call for Applications, organized by the Agriculture and Rural Development Support Institution (ARDSI) held in Ankara Chamber of Commerce (ATO).

Reminding that the 5th Call for Applications of IPARD-II Program, implemented by the ARDSI, came out on February 16, Minister Pakdemirli has stated that 14,500 projects were provided with about 4 billion TL by the grants. "Thanks to these grants,  60 thousand new employment opportunities were created as 10 billion TL was invested in the rural areas. We have granted about 300 million TL for 625 projects in Ankara so far. 600 million TL has been invested in Ankara and 1,500 people have been employed by these grants," he said.

Highlighting that they always standed by their producers and entrepreneurs in rural areas, Minister Pakdemirli said that they offered a grant package of 250 million Euros, namely 1,5 billion Turkish Liras to our investors under the 5th Call for Applications of IPARD-II Programme.

"WE WILL PROVIDE GRANTS OF 40 – 70 PERCENT"

Pakdemirli said that they are looking for investors in Ankara and in the other 42 provinces where IPARD Programmme has been applied. He also added:

"With this grant package, we will provide grants from 40 to 70 percent for investments in 9 sub-sectors in two main groups. We will provide support for up to 3 million liras of the investment for the livestock in the first group. We will give a 40 percent grant for the new enterprise-setups, 50 percent for the modernization of the existing enterprises. The grant will be 60 percent in the applications of legal entities. We will use 170 million euros of the 250 million euros, that is to say, 1 billion liras for the livestock investments. The deadline for these investments is May 17. We support up to 1 million to 3 million euros of processing and marketing investments in the second group. The grant rate will be 40 percent in real and legal persons, and 50 percent in cooperatives and producer organizations. We will use 80 million euros of 250 million euros, namely 500 million liras for these investments."

Pointing out that ARDSI's calls for applications under IPARD-II will continue, Pakdemirli said that they planned to call in other sectors of IPARD-II in May, and that they would announce the call budget later.

"I WOULD LIKE TO INVITE ALL THE INVESTORS"

Expressing that they reduced bureaucratic procedures related to the project applications, Minister Pakdemirli stated that they discriminated women and young people positively.

"I would like to invite all the investors in Ankara to benefit from the grants under the IPARD-II 5th Call for Applications. The support provided by our Ministry for rural development will continue increasingly. Our work continues with the understanding of increasing living standards in rural areas, developing agriculture-based industry, on-site production and on-site processing. The 5th Call for Applications of 250 million euros, namely about 1.5 billion liras is continuing. Do not hesitate, do not wait, come and invest in the rural areas," he said.
