TÜBİTAK 1001 project titled " Determination of Supply Chain-Focused Improvement Target: The Pear Example" led by researcher and developer Dr. Gökhan ÖZTÜRK started in October at Fruit Research Institute.
The project aims to model a modern "fruit improvement process approach" that will contribute to increasing the market success of breeding studies in Turkey, also includes a series of activities with primary and secondary school students. Meetings were held with the theme of "pear breeding", slogan, picture, amblem-logo were given within the framework of the activities. There were design and story competitions and these activities were planned in a way that would expand the students' perspectives on science and enrich their imaginations in relation to the project subjects. The activities were done including the Domestic Goods Usage Week on 12-18 December in Egirdir town. It is supported by the Education Department of Eğirdir with the participation of more than 300 students.
We would like to thank our Eğirdir town's Director of Education Department to Mr. Ahmet ARMUTOĞLU and our teachers for their collaborative approach and support from the beginning of this project.
