The 22nd National Cherry- Sour Cherry Working Group Meeting organized by General Directorate of Agricultural Research and Policy was done at the Fruit Research Institute. Representatives of the affiliated to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, General Directorate of Agricultural Research and Policy, Research Institutes, Universities, Provincial Directorates of Agriculture and Forestry, producers and exporters from the private sector participated in the working group. During the 2 day in the study, all the problems of cherries were discussed. All stages of Chery cultivation, production and selling were discussed that sweet cherry ranks first in production and fourth in exports in Turkey, from production to the table, and future of the fruit was discussed.
On the first day of the study, Prof. Dr. Ahmet EŞİTKEN from Selçuk University Faculty of Agriculture. Erol YALÇINKAYA from National Agriculture Insurance Company, Mehmet ERDOĞAN from ANA Fruit Export Company, Prof. Dr. İsmail KARACA from Applied Sciences University of Faculty Of Agriculture, Dr. Hasan Cumhur SARISU from the Fruit Research Institute made their presentations. In addition, Provincial Agriculture and Forestry Directorates had explained the problems. The first day ended with a free podium and general evaluations.
On the second day of the meeting, a technical visit to the ANA Fruit Company, a visit to the institute's land and laboratories, and sensory analyzes of the new cherry varieties nominated for registration as a result of the cherry breeding studies carried out in our institution were made by the participants in guests.
22nd National Cherry- Sour Cherry Working Group Meeting ended with success in best wishes. Fruıit Research Institute, as the host institution, would like to thank all the participants who participated in the meeting.
