Research Departments

The main objectives of the Agricultural Irrigation and Land Reclamation Department are; The aim is to evaluate research priorities and direct them to increase the productivity of land and water resources in a sustainable manner, especially in solving the land and water scarcity crisis that may occur in arid and semi-arid regions.

In this context, in our Institution;

Studies and projects are carried out to increase the performance in irrigated agriculture by using appropriate technologies for the planning, operation and management of irrigation systems and to disseminate modern irrigation systems that will save water in irrigation areas.

Ensuring effective use of water by scheduling plant water needs and irrigation through water optimization, selecting the most suitable plant type depending on irrigation water quality and determining agricultural measures to ensure optimum yield, determining potential plant water consumption within the soil-plant-atmosphere system and determining actual plant water consumption. Method development studies for the direct determination of urban wastewater, determination of hydraulic and biological parameters of systems that provide natural treatment of urban wastewater, renewable use of treated water, and new, updated irrigation and stress studies are carried out by taking into account the effect of climate change.
