Our Duties

REGIONAL AREA OF DUTY:

These are the provinces of Konya, Karaman, Aksaray, Niğde, Isparta and Burdur.

 

DUTY TOPICS:

1. To develop agronomic and cultural measures to preserve water and soil moisture in arid and semi-arid regions in order to reduce the risk of agricultural production,



2. Regarding soil water resources; To develop appropriate methods and technologies for the effective use of water in agriculture, to determine the conditions for using low quality water in agricultural irrigation,



3. To determine the fertility potential of soils, to investigate the effects of plant nutrients and soil conditioners on soil fertility and quality, and to develop appropriate fertilization techniques,



4. Protecting and developing water resources in basins and ensuring their sustainable use and developing integrated basin agricultural water management models,



5. To investigate the effects of plant nutrients and soil conditioners on soil fertility and quality and to develop appropriate fertilization techniques,



6. Conducting drought risk analyzes at regional level and developing early warning and appropriate land use systems,

7. To create soil and land information systems and their database,



8. To determine the possible changes that climate change will cause in soil, water resources and crop production and to develop appropriate adaptation suggestions,



9. To monitor developments regarding drought and desertification, to make observations and prepare annual reports, to make suggestions to decision makers to prevent possible crises,​
