Morphological Characters:

Plant height is 74.2 cm and natural plant height is 43.0-58.7 cm. Main stem thickness and main stem numbers per plant are 2.3- 2.8 mm and  2- 4, respectively.   Flowers are white in color. Thousand grain weight is 32.9 gram. Its growth habit is semi-prostrate.

 

Agricultural Characters:

It’s winter-hardy and drought resistant. It’s grown alone and in a mixture with cereals (especially barley) for hay and silage production. Days to flowering and physiological maturity are 176-204  and  222-241, respectively. As green herbage yield is 1773.7 kg da-1 which is 5.7% more than controls (Tarmbeyazı-98 and  Altonova -2002) yield (1678.5 kg da-1).  The yield of hay is 489.6 kg da-1. Biological and seed yields are 456.9 kg/da and 90.2 kg/da, respectively. Its seed yield is 6.1% more than controls yield (85.0 kg da-1).

 

Technological Characters:

The percentages of crude protein, crude fiber, dry matter, NDF, ADF and crude oil are 12.6 %,  22.2%, 91.8%, 49.7%, 36.1%, and 0.6% in hay content, respectively. The percentages of crude protein, dry matter, and crude oil are 24.8%,  92.6% and1.8%, in grain content, respectively.

 

Variety Characteristics:

This variety is a winter crop for Central Anatolia Region and similar locations.  Seeding rate is 7-8 kg per da  for hay production. It may be grown in a mixture with barley for the production of hay and silage.  In a mixture, barley and Hungarian vetch are sown as 4-5 kg da-1 and 7-8 kg da-1, respectively.
