Within the scope of "From Soil to Table Nigde Potato Festival", people showed great interest in potato stand where local and national edible, industrial and colorful potato varieties developed by Potato Research Institute. While informing guests about the development of potato varieties, chips made from local and national varieties were served.
With the official opening, protocol visits were made to Potato Research Institute stand. The Governor of Nigde, Yılmaz SIMSEK; Justice and Development (AK) Party Deputy Chairman and Justice and Development Party Adana Deputy, Julide SARIEROGLU; Justice and Development Party Nigde Deputy, Selim GULTEKIN; Republican People's Party (CHP) Deputy, Omer Fethi GURER; Mayor of Nigde, Emrah OZDEMIR and the accompanying protocol members visited the stand.
The Director of Potato Research, Ugur PIRLAK, informed to the guests about the local and national potato varieties that developed by Potato Research Institute and served chips that made with the developed potato varieties.
Another event of the festival was "The Harvest Event" held at Potato Research Institute. Within the scope of "From Soil to Table Nigde Potato Festival", the local and national potatoes varieties were harvested on the grounds of the institute.
