In the Potato Research Institute, between 15-16 December 2021, the Research Committee Meetings were held. During the meeting, the concluded, ongoing and new proposal research projects were evaluated at the meeting room of the institute. Before starting the meeting, the Institute Director, Ugur PIRLAK, gave information to the participants about the activities carried out in the Institute throughout the year.
Ongoing projects at the Potato Research Institute;
- Central Anatolian Potato Breeding Project,
- Determination of Resistance of Some Potato Varieties and Breeding Clones to Golden Cyst Nematode (Globodera rastochiensis, Wollenweber) in Potatoes,
- Comparison of Flowing Water Culture, Aeroponic and Soil Medium Methods with Yield and Yield Components in Potato Mini Tuber Production,
- The Effects of Different Sowing Watch Systems on Yield and Quality Characteristics of Potatoes and the Economic Value of the Product in Niğde Conditions,
- Determination of Tuber Quality Traits in Potato Genotypes with Different Flesh Colors,
- Determination of Water Use Efficiency of Advanced Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) Breeding Lines,
- Molecular Characterization and Determination of Genetic Diversity of Some Potato Genotypes in Turkey Using SSR Markers (During the meeting, this project was presented by the project leaders).
