Potato Research Institute was in Burdur with Nigsah, the King of Potatoes.
Within the scope of General Directorate of Agricultural Research and Policies (TAGEM) 30th Anniversary Events, Potato Research Institute planted the institute's high yielding potato varieties for demonstration on the field day with the Burdur Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry. In the field day, Burdur Provincial Agriculture and Forestry Director, Department Managers, Technical Personnel, Agricultural Consultants and several farmers from Kozluca County.
At the beginning of the field day, Burdur Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry, Mehmet TUGRUL, talked about Burdur Agriculture and the importance of local and national varieties. The Institute Director, Ugur PIRLAK, also, talked about the studies carried out by TAGEM and informed the participants about the R&D activities carried out in the institute and the local and national potato varieties.
Afterwards, the demonstration area was visited with the participants, and examinations and evaluations were made. While NİGSAH's performance in Burdur was impressive, it also received great appreciation from the participants. Especially, the producers from Kozluca County liked NİGSAH greatly both in terms of yield and taste.
