​National Duties

1. In maize breeding, to provide national coordination, to prepare, coordinate and conduct projects, organize training programs, including biological diversity and genetic resources, in the subjects of protecting, using and evaluation of natural resources, to join in national studies.
   
2. In all study subjects i​n condition with to be projected, to be assigned exchanging materials with the institutes studying similar subjects.
   

Regional Duties

1. Conservation of natural resources,
   
2. Source material improvement, breeding, agronomy,
   
3. Resistance to diseases, quality evaluation and improvement,
   
4. Has the duties to conduct research, training and extension services in social-economical subjects.
