Soil Physics Laboratory​

Soil physics is related with the physical characteristics of soil such as texture, structure, pore size distribution, expansion, shrinking, water and air conductivity, plasticity and water holding capacity, which directly affect the physical characteristics of soil and have significant effects on plant development. Soil Physics laboratory operates to identify the physical properties of soil and by determining their effects on soil fertility, irrigation and land reclamation to solve problem faced during crop production. Samples from farmers, research projects, private or state sector institutions are analyzed. Necessary sample amount for soil physics analyses is 2 kg of soil. ​​

Soil Fertility Analysis Laboratory ​

Soil fertility provides the availability of macro nutrition elements (N, P, K, Ca, Mg, S) and micro nutrition elements (Fe, Zn, Mn, B, Cu, Mo, Cl) which the plants require for being full-grown and giving yield in root zone sufficiently. A proper fertilizing program must be composed by carrying out soil fertility analyses in order to provide the sustainability of soil and develop the soil fertility in agricultural production. Fertility analyses are carried out in our laboratory and proper fertilizing programs are prepared according to the results of analyses and kind of crop.  Necessary sample amount for soil fertility analyses is 2 kg of soil.

​Irrigation Water Analysis Laboratory​

The water used in irrigation consists of dissolved compounds in sundry amounts. These are relatively few but substantially dissolved solids. They emerge as a result of the dissolution of salt resources such as lime, gypsum and the decomposition of the rocks and the soils. 

The availability of the water for irrigation considerably depends on the kind and amount of the containing salts. If qualified water is not used in irrigation, the amount and quality of the crop decreases and salinity and desertification problem rises in the soil in a short span of time. Besides, the surplus toxic elements (boron) in irrigation water disserve the plant. For this reason, the irrigation water must be analyzed in terms of salinity, sodium ratio and toxic elements before the utilization.  

In the laboratory, samples including the research projects are analyzed primarily and besides samples from farmers, private or state sector are analyzed. As a result of the analysis results, the availability of the irrigation waters in terms of agriculture is indicated in the reports.  In case of the utilization of inappropriate waters and the aggregate waters because of the water source constraint, the precautions are indicated in the report.
