Our Institute, celebrating its 100th anniversary, organized the “National and Indigenous Variety Promotion Day" event at the İkizce Application and Research Farm in order to introduce the new varieties it has developed to producers and sector stakeholders.

The event was held with the participation of Gölbaşı District Governor Erol Rüstemoğlu, the Director General of Agricultural Research and Policies, Dr. Mustafa Altuğ Atalay, the Director General of Agricultural Enterprises, Dr. Hasan Gezginç, Deputy Director General of TAGEM, Dr. Şerafettin Çakal, and Head of the Field Crops Research Department of TAGEM, Suat Yılmaz, as well as representatives of the provincial and district organizations of our Ministry, officials from TAGEM-affiliated research institutes in Ankara, representatives of the agri-based food industry, private sector seed companies, non-governmental organizations, and farmers from various provinces and districts.

In his opening speech, our Institute Director, Dr. Rahmi Taşcı, emphasized the contributions of our Institute, which has a century-long history, to the agriculture of our country and the varieties it has developed, and respectfully commemorated those who have contributed to these achievements.

Within the scope of the event, the exhibition titled “Through Children's Eyes: TARM – A 100-Year Journey," which brings together a century-long legacy with the imagination of the children of our staff in honor of our Institute's 100th anniversary, was visited. Afterwards, a commemorative plane tree was planted by protocol members, and stands prepared by different departments of our Institute were also visited.

The “National and Indigenous Variety Promotion Day" continued with visits to trial fields of different plant species, where experts provided information about the varieties. The program concluded after a collective lunch.
