Our researcher Ayşe Cebeci has successfully defended her doctoral thesis and earned the title of PhD. The study was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ali Osman Beldüz.
Her research focused on Infectious Pancreatic Necrosis Virus (IPNV) resistance in Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) using the CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing platform.
The study identified SNPs associated with IPNV resistance and, achieved gene editing in fish using CRISPR/Cas9 technology.

This doctoral work represents a pioneering step in aquaculture genetics and fish health, significantly contributing to the advancement of molecular aquaculture and biotechnology capacity in Türkiye.
