Demonstration application of the outcomes of "Field Moister Capacity Improving Applications through Semi-Circular Micro-Catchment Water Harvesting Technique in Olive Cultivation" Project, conducted in our Center between 2014-2018, was held in Dikili on 8th March 2019 and in Aliağa on 11th March 2019 within the scope of "Women Will Harvest the Water in Spring, Olives Will Consume It in Summer" extension project coordinated by İzmir Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry.
With water harvesting projects it is aimed to store runoff water in root zones during rainy season in arid and semi-arid areas for future use by the trees when needed, relieve negative effects of drought and prevent soil loss due to erosion.
