Plant Breeding Technics Agronomy

Purpose of the program:

This program is responsible for carrying out national and international projects. Plant Growing Techniques Program was founded and started to work at 1988 with Bahri Dağdaş International Winter Cereal Research Institute (previous name of the Institute)'s work on soil properties mapping project.  Plant growing techniques program focuses on protection and improvement of natural sources and works on plant production techniques to get higher yields and better quality.

Mission of the program:

  1. Determining of the growing techniques for new cultivars or newly developing cultivars.
  2. Protecting and improving the physical, chemical and biological structure of the soil for sustainable agriculture.
  3. Conducting irrigation studies for efficient usage of water  sources.
  4. Purpose oriented developing and improving agricultural devices and machines.
  5. Conducting studies about soil microorganisms which are contributing to plant nutrition and element availability in soil.
  6. Performing  adaptation studies for specific locations with alternative plants.
  7. Determining crop varieties and proper  production strategies for these varieties.
  8. Conducting studies to improve the yield and quality of the agricultural products.
