We Are in Azerbaijan…
We have conducted the second survey study to assess fisheries resources along the Azerbaijani coast of the Caspian Sea.
As part of the study coordinated by the General Directorate of Fisheries and Aquaculture, laboratory processing of the sampled species has been completed. Training was also provided to technical personnel working in Azerbaijan on biological data collection, laboratory procedures, and data collection from fisheries.
As a result of the study, initial findings on the stock status of Clupeonella cultriventris and Clupeonella engrauliformis, commonly caught in the Caspian Sea and locally referred to as “Kilka", were shared with the relevant stakeholders and institutions.
